New VISTA opportunity with Don Bosco Centers!
Are you (or someone you know) ready to serve? VISTA is your chance to bring solutions to community problems, and make a lasting difference to vulnerable seniors, teens, and families in the historic northeast neighborhoods of Kansas City, MO. Don Bosco Centers is proud to be a brand-new VISTA project site, and we are recruiting for a full time, 12 month position starting either October 26th or November 9th: Fund Development Assistant.
What is VISTA? A long-standing (since the 1960s) AmeriCorps program that sends members to communities facing poverty, inequality, and unemployment to build organizational, administrative, and financial capacity. VISTA members bring passion and perseverance where the need is greatest: to organizations like us that help eradicate poverty. More info here!
Is this a job or a volunteer opportunity? No. VISTA positions are part of a national service program (like the Peace Corps, except in the US). But they provide a modest bi-weekly living allowance, health benefit plan, time off, and an end-of-term education award of $6,195 or a cash stipend of $1,800. The position will be located at our Senior Center and Community Center sites, with a start date on either October 26 or November 9, 2020. More info here!
What will these positions do? What are the qualifications? More detailed information, including the application process can be found by clicking on the position link: Fund Development Assistant.
