The Don Bosco Centers received a much needed facelift on Thursday, August 20, when more than 100 employees from ARAMARK dedicated their time, energy and talents to enhance the Family Support Center and the Don Bosco Charter High School. The ARAMARK Enhancement Day kicked off a more extensive partnership between Don Bosco and ARAMARK through the company's Building Community Initiative.

"It was awesome to see so many ARAMARK employees come together to help make a difference at The Don Bosco Centers," said Julie Gray, ARAMARK's District Manager at the Sprint World Headquarters. "We were excited to be able to help enrich the lives of families in need, and view the Enhancement Day as just the first step in our partnership."

Volunteer projects included installing flower beds, repainting the interior, and sorting clothing at the Don Bosco Family Support Center; and repainting classrooms and hallways, painting murals, and building bookshelves for the Charter High School. The volunteers also built new benches for the Don Bosco Senior Center.

"ARAMARK was able to accomplish projects that we simply don't have the money or time to do," said Nicholas Scielzo, President of Don Bosco. "Their volunteer service helped us redirect our resources to other projects, and we're so appreciative of that."

Is your company looking for a way to support The Don Bosco Centers?

Don Bosco has several opportunities for local businesses to demonstrate their commitment to philanthropy and the community. Don Bosco's new Business Alliance program is a great way to invest charitable dollars, while the Gala auction or Family Support Center's clothing closet are great opportunities for in-kind gifts. A number of volunteer opportunities are also available. A limited number of NAP and YOP credits are available to help businesses with Missouri tax liability make their charitable dollars go further.
