Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. is committed to making a positive impact on the community. The firm carries out this mission, in part, by supporting many charitable organizations in the Kansas City metropolitan area. For over a decade, Shook has counted the Don Bosco Centers' Project Yes School Supply Drive among these causes and continues to participate in the event because of the Don Bosco Centers' longstanding commitment to the people of Kansas City. The firm believes that Project Yes provides an excellent means for its employees to directly touch the lives of children in need.
In supporting Project Yes, Shook employees conduct regular school supply drives, which have been overwhelmingly successful, giving employees a great sense of satisfaction in their ability to help prepare area children for school each year. Over the years, the firm's employees have donated hundreds of notebooks, rulers, scissors, crayons, pens, pencils and other supplies. In addition to donating school supplies, employees are able to donate funds that are pooled and used by a dedicated Shook committee to purchase additional supplies in bulk.
Shook is proud of its continued involvement with the Don Bosco Centers and looks forward to continuing its tradition of participating in Project Yes. The firm believes that every child deserves to go to school with the supplies needed for success, and the firm's employees take great satisfaction in knowing that they have played a part in making that happen.
Headquartered in Kansas City, Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. is an international law firm with a legacy spanning more than a century. Online donations are also accepted and will be used to help purchase supplies and to create a fund to help low-income families purchase school uniforms. The school supply drive will last until Monday, August 4, 2008.
